Do you need an on-line tool rather than a spreadsheet?

You may be familiar with the simple process that we use at Spreadsheets by Email to make it easy for clients to get the spreadsheet they want as quickly and cost-effectively as possible.

Sometimes, however, a spreadsheet is not the ideal answer to the problem and an on-line database application is more appropriate - particularly if:
  • Multiple users need access at the same time;
  • Not all users will have Excel or another spreadsheet package on their PC;
  • Some users need mobile access;
  • The requirement is more of a database solution.
We have today added this service to the Spreadsheets by Email website.

Just visit the on-line tools page for more information.

I actually don't see any major problems in using a spreadsheet. The only thing about it is that you should buy it but a lot of people can't afford it. Using an online database application is better in that case.

There are free online tools that you can use, but when it comes to company information, I suggest you buy tools so you can be sure of the security.

While I don't necessary see spreadsheets as burden, its online collaboration counterparts is far superior than their offline sibling.

I can't think of other tools out there that can offer the same or better services than spreadsheet. I still prefer it actually.

How about using Google Apps? That way, you get free spreadsheets, shared calendars, file storage, and more.

The Google platform is complete with this, which makes online collaboration and document sharing easier than sending spreadsheets.

The best thing about this software is that they're now available on Google. A group of people can now simultaneously work on the same file.

I agree with the article topic you have posted. Google Spreadsheet can bring some problems especially if a lot of people are working on that same sheet. Of course, if you wanted to change something but the other is also working, the changes will just be a waste of time since he might think that you are changing what he's doing.

Why not use both? Google has an online spreadsheet. Doing this can give you a chance to work online even if your file isn't on your computer.
You can also use free SEO tools online.
